Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5) First Look Trailer

It seemed like a prime opportunity to let loose a first look of the second part of Final Fantasy VII's remake project, and lo and behold that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, part two in the remake project, was indeed shown at the end of today's Final Fantasy VII 25 Anniversary stream. It was officially revealed as well that this game will be launching next winter, exclusively on PlayStation 5, and will be the second of three parts to the Final Fantasy VII remake project. 

Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion (Multi) Announcement Trailer

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is making the leap from the PlayStation Portable to all modern platforms with a brand-new, heavily overhauled remake known as Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion. Promised to be more than a simple HD remaster, Crisis Core's remake releases this winter.

Announcing The SuperPhillip Central Best of 2021 Awards!

Hello, everyone! A year's end means the return of an old favorite to cap off this year of gaming right. For the 14th year in a row, the SuperPhillip Central Best of Awards will be here to celebrate the best and brightest in gaming for the past year!

The festivities begin on Monday, December 27th with a five-night event with numerous top five lists in various categories, from Most Overlooked Games of 2021, Best Original Soundtrack of 2021, and of course, the piece de resistance, one final top ten list all about SPC's Games of 2021, published on New Year's Eve! 

Take a glimpse at the banner that will be put up just after Christmas here on SuperPhillip Central to help commemorate and celebrate the occasion, as well as getting just a taste of some of the games we'll be spotlighting when the SPC Best of 2021 Awards occur! And, of course, we will see you here on the night of Monday, December 27th for the very first awards handed out and lists published on the site!

Chocobo GP (NSW) Release Date Announcement Trailer

Ready, set, Chocobo! In the wee hours of the morning, Chocobo GP has received a release date announcement and subsequent trailer. Chocobo GP will race onto the Nintendo Switch on March 10th, 2022. Check out this trailer that shows off just a sample of the content featured within the game. Nintendo Switch (OLED model) Announcement Trailer

Introducing the Nintendo Switch--OLED style! While not quite the significant upgrade that was rumored, the Switch's new OLED model does have some cool, nifty improvements, such as a 7-inch OLED screen, a much wider stand than the original Switch (and it's adjustable), as well as a wired LAN connection that can be plugged in directly to the dock. The newest member of the Nintendo Switch assortment of systems launches right alongside Metroid Dread on October 8th!

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut (PS5, PS4) Announcement Trailer

The fantastic Ghost of Tsushima is receiving a Director's Cut, including a new story expansion on Iki Island and PlayStation 5-centric features such as haptic feedback on the Dualsense, adaptive triggers, Japanese lip-syncing (something much desired from the base game), and of course, dynamic 4K resolution which targets 60 FPS.

Cruis’n Blast (NSW) Announcement Trailer

Not going to lie, folks, this announcement got me more hyped than I expected! A game well known to those who frequent Dave and Busters locations, Cruis'n Blast, is coming to Nintendo Switch with its very own home console port, complete with four player racing mayhem and a wide assortment of zany tracks and vehicles. While no firm release date was given, Nintendo says that Cruis'n Blast will race its way onto the Nintendo Switch this fall.

Metroid Dread (NSW) Announcement Trailer

Between all the hints and teases throughout the decade (starting with a message log in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption back on the Wii, if I recall correctly), Metroid Dread is finally a reality and it's coming to the Nintendo Switch! It's been almost two decades since the last all-new 2D Metroid, and now Samus Aran has a brand-new, side-scrolling adventure locked, loaded, and almost ready for launch! Metroid Dread launches on Nintendo Switch on October 8th.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp (NSW) Announcement Trailer

After an extended decade's long hiatus, Advance Wars is back and ready to storm a new Nintendo platform. A remake of both Game Boy Advance Advance Wars games, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp features new visuals, new music, and more family-friendly warfare than you can blast a Medium Tank with! Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp marches onto the Nintendo Switch on December 3rd!

A humorous Wario serves as narrator to this announcement trailer for the latest in the WarioWare series--WarioWare: Get It Together! Offering a whole slew of new micro-games featuring different ways to play them depending on the character used, as well as two-player co-op action, WarioWare's Nintendo Switch debut happens on September 10th.

Mario Party Superstars (NSW) Announcement Trailer

The latest in the Mario Party series, Mario Party Superstars, was announced during Nintendo's E3 2021 Direct presentation. It's essentially a "best of" installment of the series, featuring five classic boards from the Nintendo 64 era of games, 100 mini-games, and new features like online play for each and every mode in the game! Mario Party Superstars prepares to party hearty on the Nintendo Switch on October 29th!

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania (Multi) Announcement Trailer

After a less than stellar remaster of a less than thrilling game in the Super Monkey Ball series, SEGA is back at it again, but this time with a game to celebrate the Super Monkey Ball series' 20th anniversary: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania! Rolling onto every current generation console on the market on October 5th, Banana Mania promises over 300 levels from the first three Super Monkey Ball games.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin (PS5, XBS, PS4, XB1, PC) Announcement Teaser Trailer

Coming in 2022, a new spin-off in the Final Fantasy series, one that takes a different, decidedly darker/edgier approach, is Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Featuring the original Final Fantasy's Garland serving in his role as Chaos, who--if you didn't catch it the first time in the trailer--our ragtag trio of protagonists wish to kill for currently unrevealed reasons. Beauty, loveliness, awesomeness? Thy name is Forza Horizon 5. Get ready to get behind the driver's seat in the ultra-impressive latest in this open-world racing series. The sights and sounds of Mexico is the destination this time around, and the varied topography will make for some interesting and truly exciting races. Sonic Colors: Ultimate (NSW, PS4, XB1, PC) Announce Trailer

While there wasn't too much that was overly exciting during Sonic the Hedgehog's 30th anniversary video showcase this morning, which just wrapped up, this announcement hyped me up considerably. After all, the original Sonic Colors isn't just one of my favorite 3D Sonic games, but also one of my favorite Wii games in general. I'm glad the game is no longer stuck to the system with Sonic Colors: Ultimate. Check out this premiere trailer for the game. Sonic Colors: Ultimate speeds onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and PC (though the game seems to be an Epic Games Store exclusive at the moment) on September 7, 2021.

Talk about an unexpected but welcomed surprise! It's Game Builder Garage, a game-creation software from Nintendo using what is sure to be easy-to-use tools for players to channel their inner game designer. Share made creations via codes and then play other likeminded makers' crafted experiences as well! Game Builder Garage launches on the Nintendo Switch in both retail and digital forms on June 11th for a MSRP of $29.99.

Game Freak is all hands on deck with an entirely fresh take on the Pokémon series with Pokémon Legends Arceus. Explore the wilderness as you catch and battle Pokémon. Pokémon Legends Arceus debuts on the Nintendo Switch in early 2022.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl (NSW) Announcement Trailer

After a lengthy wait and plenty of gossip, Pokémon trainers old and young will finally be able to return to the Sinnoh region with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl. With a decidedly interesting art style that seems faithful to the originals, these Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes are due to launch on Nintendo Switch in late 2021.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (PS5) Announcement Trailer

Announced during today's State of Play presentation, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is heading to the PlayStation 5. Featuring brand new upgrades and enhancements to the original game, including most prevalently the boost in visuals and an additional episode featuring Yuffie, Final Fantasy VII Remake fans will have even more lovely content to sink their collective teeth into when Intergrade launches on PlayStation 5 on June 10th, 2021.

Diablo II returns in resurrected form with a totally revamped and remade game. Diablo II: Resurrected brings both Diablo II and its Lord of Destruction expansion to a new generation of gamers and platforms, complete with cross-progression capabilities. Diablo II: Resurrected is planned for a 2021 release with a mighty heavenly $39.99 price tag.
