Nintendo 3DS Sizzle Reel - October 25th, 2012

Nintendo showcased a myriad of titles during their Nintendo Direct presentation, and what better way to do so in a flash than a sizzle reel? Such games featured include Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the first footage of the 3DS version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, among others. The 3DS library is shaping up. Here's hoping the prices become more affordable.

The Comic Con 2012 trailer for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (a multiplatform release) does not show any gameplay footage whatsoever. Instead, the important part of the trailer comes at the very end. It is the release date for North America, November 20th, 2012. Will it be just in time for the Wii U's launch? Between Sonic's racer and Sackboy's kart game, LittleBigPlanet Karting, arcade race fans have a lot to love this fall!

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is my favorite arcade kart racer of this gen, easily surpassing Mario Kart Wii in fairness and fun. Sonic & All-Stars Racing has Sonic and friends returning to the circuit, but this time they can glide in the air and drive over water. Unveiled today alongside the E3 trailer is that the hero of the Shinobi series will make his much anticipated debut to the series.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (PS3, 360, 3DS, PSV) First Screens

This game was rumored to be in development, but it's nice to see some confirmation. Two characters revealed for this game include Vyse the pirate from Skies of Arcadia and Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe. We haven't seen him since Sega Superstars Tennis. No word on a Wii U version yet, but the producer of the game has hinted at one. I think they'd be foolish not to have a Wii U iteration as Nintendo and Sega is a match made in gaming heaven. Regardless of what platforms this game comes out on, this racing title is a definite buy as the original is my favorite arcade racer of this generation.
