We've gotten a taste of summer here in Central City, but now it's time for the first full month of the summer season with July. Before that, however, let's look back at the month that was June with both the Central City Census and Review Round-Up. Let's begin with the Central City Census poll first.
Some even results for voting this time around regarding how much portable gaming is done. 44.44% of the vote do a lot of or simply love portable gaming. Meanwhile, 28.89% of the vote stick more with console gaming or non-handheld gaming. Interesting to know, and interesting that this topic didn't get as many votes as we usually get despite June being good for traffic on the site! I need to advertise the Central City Census better, huh!
Going along with the portable theme for July's Central City Census, the question I'll be asking is whether or not you own a Nintendo 3DS or 2DS.

Central City Census - June 2017
It's a new month, and it's a special one for SuperPhillip Central as well. More on that in the Review Round-Up! For now, let's take a look at the voting results for the Central City Census for May 2017.
The Central City Census asked which of the big three's E3 presentations--Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony's-- is the one you're most looking forward to. Despite not being a traditional stage presentation, Nintendo won out big this poll. Of course, a new console which has everyone wondering what other games are on the way will do that! Sony excites me as well, as PlayStation does with many of our voters here. Microsoft didn't get as much excitement, even with Scorpio being unveiled in an extravaganza-like capacity. I personally hope for some fresh new IP or returning favorites that aren't Xbox's usual trio of Halo, Gears, and Forza.
This month's Central City Census is for June, and for many, that's the start of summer, a perfect time to game outside or stay inside with a handheld gaming device. The question the CCC poses this month is how much handheld gaming you like to do.

Central City Census - May 2017
A new month brings a new Central City Census and Review Round-Up! Let's start with the former, and look back at the results of this past month's poll!
April showers brought a lot of aggression to the Central City Census. The Census asked whether or not you've ever broken a video game controller on purpose. We seem to have a level-headed batch of voters with over half (54%) of you saying you have never done so intentionally. Meanwhile, around 20% said they did but only once while some of the more rage-prone gamers out there voted 2-4 times or more than 5 times!
May's Central City Census is hyped for E3 2017. The question this month is simple: Which first-party's E3 presentation are you most looking forward to?

Central City Census - April 2017
Welcome back from April Fools' Day where SuperPhillip Central really wasn't associated in any way with Russia (save for the few views this site gets from the country every month). We're back as SuperPhillip Central, and we're back to business! With that back to business attitude, let's look at the results of last month's Central City Census!
March 2017's Central City Census asked of you guys which current console manufacturer has the most appealing first party games. The vote was one of the closest seen on the site in a good while with Nintendo just barely edging out Sony. Two titans of franchise-holders, for sure!
This month's Central City Census asks about your controller-breaking habits. Have you ever broken one intentionally, and if so, how many times? The poll will be closed at the end of the month!

Central City Census - March 2017
Welcome to a new month here at SuperPhillip Central! Like months usually begin here, we have a new Central City Census and Review Round-Up series of posts to go through, starting with the former. Let's see the results from last month's poll!
We only got half the number of votes compared to January, so that was unfortunate, but I do really suck at remembering to remind folks to vote no matter the month! I guess I was really sucky this past month!
Regardless, February's Central City Census tried to measure readers' hype towards the Nintendo Switch through whether folks were intending to purchase one. The majority are, whether if they've already pre-ordered, are trying to get one at launch, or will eventually get one, probably when launch issues have cleared up and more games are out.
Time for March's Central City Census question! This month, SuperPhillip Central asks your opinion on which console manufacturer has the most appealing first party games to you. Poll closes at the end of the month. I'll try to make more consistent reminders for readers to vote this month.

Central City Census - February 2017
A new month brings a new Central City Census and a new Review Round-Up. First, let's look at the results to January's poll.
The first Central City Census of 2017 asked if you guys and gals got any new gaming hardware over the holiday season. The majority of you did not, while the most popular hardware received or purchased was the PlayStation 4, though not surprisingly with the PS4 Pro and Slim having just released! Meanwhile, the Wii U did surprise with three people getting one over the holidays despite a new Nintendo console incoming in March.
Speaking of which, this month's Central City Census has similarities to last months in that it also asks about gaming hardware. Instead of multiple hardware, however, this month's poll asks specifically about the Nintendo Switch. Simply put, are you going to buy Nintendo's new system?

Central City Census - January 2017
Sure, there's a new year upon us, but that also means it's a new month upon us as well! That's of significance because it's time to bring out both the Central City Census and the Review Round-Up! First, we'll check on the Central City Census and see the results from December 2016's Final Fantasy XV poll.
After ten years of planning, development, and production, Final Fantasy XV finally released! The Central City Census for December 2016 asked about whether you purchased the game, as well as asking if you're enjoying it, pending you bought it, of course.
There were 26 total votes in total (which isn't too bad considering I'm not the best at marketing the poll). The most popular choice was that yes, 8 people had bought the game and they were liking what they were playing. Meanwhile, we had 7 folks who were planning to purchase the game (perhaps as a Christmas gift for themselves?). An equal number of voters said they weren't planning to buy the game, while one lone soul bought the game but unfortunately isn't caring for it all that much. Lastly, 3 voters aren't certain whether Final Fantasy XV will be a part of their collections any time soon.
With the results for last month's Central City Census examined fully, let's check out what the Census has to ask this month, the first of 2017!
The holiday season is over. Did you get a good haul? Maybe you got some new hardware, whether a new PC, a new smartphone or tablet, a new home console, or a new handheld! The Central City Census for January 2017 asks if you got any new hardware over the holidays!

Central City Census - November 2016
It's a new month, and it's time for SuperPhillip Central to collect the results from the Central City Census used for the previous two months, September and October!
The question that was posed was one about whether readers and passersby purchased more physical copies of games or digital copies. Physical led with over half the vote, while a mix of both received nearly 40% of the vote. Meanwhile, digital was limited to less than 13% of the total vote.
This month's question is all about the recently announced Nintendo Switch. It's simply a question of whether or not you guys have an interest in it after what you've seen.

Central City Census - August 2016
With July's Central City Census closed, we now turn toward the poll's results.
Asking which eighth gen platform has the most appealing, best exclusives to the SPC community and passersby, it was a close one! The Nintendo 3DS barely eked out both the Wii U and PlayStation 4. The 3DS had 11 votes, while the Wii U had 9, and PS4 with 8. Sadly, the Xbox One and PlayStation Vita both added up to zero percent of the vote.
This month, we're talking Pokemon GO. The Central City Census asks if you are still playing, pending you ever were! The Census closes on September 5th!

Central City Census - July 2016
It's been several years since we've seen this segment on SuperPhillip Central-- finding out the results of a prior month's Central City Census poll, but here we are! Let's see how the poll turned out.
50 votes total were cast during June's Central City Census asking which eighth generation gaming platform you guys have spent the most time playing. The Nintendo 3DS took the greatest percent of the vote, getting 40% while the Wii U and PlayStation 4 fought neck and neck afterward. Meanwhile, fighting for scraps at the bottom were the Xbox One and PlayStation Vita.
So, what's in store for July's Central City Census? Well, let's continue with the eighth gen platform theme with a poll question asking which system has the best exclusives in your opinion. Results will be posted on August 5th.

The Central City Census is Back!
As part of the SuperPhillip Central eight-year anniversary festivities, the Central City Census has returned! This monthly poll was last seen in November of 2014, but now it is back with a new question being asked each month on the fifth of every month.
This month's question eases everyone into the swing of things with a simple question: Which eighth generation platform have you spent the most time with?
I look forward to tabulating of the votes at the end of the voting period to see which system is most played with the SuperPhillip Central reader base!

Central City Census - November 2014
We have reached the conclusion of another month! This past poll was pretty special. It was a two month-long poll. We're getting back to normalcy with November, but first, here are the results of September and October's poll regarding Let's Play videos!
Here's this month's poll subject:
Toy figurines like those found in Skylanders and Disney Infinity are a hot commodity right now with certain sections of the gaming population. Since we're nearing the holiday season, which do you prefer, if any?

Central City Census - September - October 2014
This edition of SuperPhillip Central's Central City Census is way overdue, so I'm going to run it from the rest of this month until the end of October. Before I get into September and October's census subject, here are the results of August's poll!
September and October's Central City Census covers Let's Play videos. Are you a fan of them? Do you even know what they are? That's what this next poll is all about.

Central City Census - August 2014
Phew! It's getting HOT here at SuperPhillip Central! Is it because of the summer heat, or are we just on fire lately? Anyhow, a new month brings a new Central City Census to vote on, but before we dive into that like ice cold pool water on a scorching day, let's take a look at the results of last month's poll.
For August, we're dealing with mobile gaming. Some consider it a great thing, while others think it's a scourge against the industry! Of course, there are those in between and those who have no opinion. What side are you on?

Central City Census - July 2014
SuperPhillip Central is off of its week of vacation, so it's time to get back to work! We start off with looking at the results of June's Central City Census. Here's how the votes came out:
This past month's question simply asked whether you guys and gals do much handheld gaming outside of your home/apartment/whatever. The majority of voters do at the very least occasionally. Meanwhile, nearly 11% of the vote only game on phones.
Both the Wii U and PlayStation Vita aren't selling to the best of their respective abilities in an international context. Of the two "failing" platforms of the eighth generation, which is your personal favorite?

Central City Census - June 2014
Welcome to summertime at SuperPhillip Central. While the kids are out of school and raising hell for their parents, we're hard at work providing content. Since it's a new month, let's see the results of May 2014's Central City Census. Hmm... Let's do a pie chart this time, shall we?
The question regarded the release of Mario Kart 8, a game which released worldwide this past Friday. Who was getting it? Did they preorder? Were they buying a Wii U for the game? Did they even have an interest in the game at all? That's what the answers to this past month's Central City Census provide. Take a glimpse at the results, and then move on to this month's poll question.
It's summer, so there's all sorts of free time available to a lot of people out there, particularly those in school. This month's Central City Census is all about whether you take a traditional gaming device outside to play on, whether it's on a road trip, on a plane, waiting for the bus, to pass time in the park, or whatever.

Central City Census - May 2014
We're already in May!? Where is the time going!? Nonetheless, we at SuperPhillip Central were quite pleased with the number of votes last month's Central City Census received. What was the topic? What were the results? Well, here's a refresher!
We asked all of you which eighth generation platform (i.e. the Wii U, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, the Nintendo 3DS, and the PlayStation Vita) you owned the most games for, whether they be retail, digital, or a combination of both.
It's no surprise to us that the platform that has been around the longest, the Nintendo 3DS, acquired the highest amount of votes this time around. The Wii U is slightly behind with an exact quarter of the votes. Next up, the PlayStation 4 comes in at third. What's the most surprising to us is that the Xbox One is in dead last. Perhaps it was just because those who voted don't own the system, but we argue that the Xbox One has the most appealing exclusives thus far when compared to the PS4. Apparently, our voters don't agree. Regardless, what does our Central City Census for May have to offer in terms of a question?
Yesterday, Mario Kart 8 received a special dedicated Nintendo Direct for it. It came out of nowhere, but it was a pleasant surprise all the same. May's Central City Census asks if you're going to purchase Mario Kart 8 or not. Census closes May 31 at 11:59 p.m. CST.

Central City Census - April 2014
We hope you enjoyed our two April Fools' posts on Tuesday. From really bad VGMs we tried to pass off as great, to a made-up Review Round-Up, linking to some ridiculous videos, we really had fun coming up with this year's jokes. Let's take a look at the Central City Census results from last month, shall we?
We asked you how many Xbox 360 systems you went through last generation. It's an issue that continues to really stick in our collective craw, as Microsoft shamelessly built a time bomb of a system with little regard for consumers.
Anyway, the winning percentage of voters this poll actually never owned an Xbox 360. Unfortunately, the next highest group of voters went through four or more systems! No! No! No! That's not how you teach a company not to poop all over you! That's sort of enabling them and saying, "It's okay you were completely negligent-- here's more of my money!" Let's see what this month's census asks.
The eighth generation technically began with the release of the Nintendo 3DS. Console-wise the Wii U initiated the generation. Soon, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One followed, with the PlayStation Vita releasing a little after the 3DS. This Central City Census for April 2014 is wondering about your current gen game collections. Which eighth generation platform do you own the most games for (retail and digital)?

Central City Census - February 2014
Welcome to the weekend here at SuperPhillip Central! To kick things off, we need to take a look at the results from the Central City Census of last month. Here was the question posed and the subsequent results!
It's hard to be positive about the Wii U right now with it's historically low sales and total lack of third-party support. However, The majority opinion seems to think Nintendo can turn things around for the struggling system. A quarter of those who voted believe the system is beyond saving, which seems to be closer to the truth than most of us would like to admit. ...We're depressed now. On to February's poll!
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have released to the masses. Now that the new systems have been out for a few months, which of the two do you own?

Central City Census - January 2014
Happy New Year everybody! We hope everyone is doing well and is pumped for 2014. SuperPhillip Central is gearing up for more reviews, more editorials, more fun lists, and more content than ever before!
Before that happens, however, let's see what you guys voted on for last month's Central City Census.
We're pretty serious about changing our review scale and how it works, so everyone's feedback was much appreciated. Regardless, the winning option this time around was to keep the scoring system the same. However, going to a 0.5 scale and a letter scale were very close behind. We'll be thinking very hard on this in the coming weeks, but if you have any thoughts on this, please leave us a comment or drop our editor-in-chief Phil an email.
Here's what the first month of the new year's census has to ask.
The Wii U is without a doubt struggling to find an audience. This month's question is rather simple-- do you think Nintendo can turn around the Wii U, or is it pretty much doomed at this point?
